Purchases

I bought something but didn't get it

Close the game completely and open it again. Apple sometimes takes a moment to confirm a purchase, and the game unlocks it as soon as Apple does. If it's still missing, open the Store and tap Restore purchases.

How do I get my purchases on a new iPhone?

Sign in with the same Apple ID, open Tallowdark, go to the Store and tap Restore purchases. One-time items come back: characters, cosmetics, bundles and the Miser's pact. Gold, Matches and Relights are used up when you spend them, so they can't be restored.

I'd like a refund

Apple handles all payments and refunds. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can't issue refunds directly because we never receive your payment details.

A purchase says it's pending

This usually means it's waiting for approval through Ask to Buy or Family Sharing. It unlocks automatically once approved.

Progress

Where is my progress saved?

On your iPhone. Your gold, unlocks, relics and settings are saved on the device as you play. There's no online account.

I deleted the app and my gold is gone

Deleting the app deletes its saved progress, and we have no copy we could restore. Anything you bought with real money that's a one-time item comes back with Restore purchases.

The game

How does the leaderboard work?

When a run ends, your score is sent to Apple's Game Center leaderboard. You need to be signed in to Game Center in Settings. Tap Leaderboard on the main menu to see where you rank. Your score depends on how long you survive, what you slay and the difficulty you play on. Harder hours of the night multiply everything.

How do I unlock harder difficulties?

Survive 6 minutes at Dusk to open Midnight, 9 minutes at Midnight to open the Witching Hour, and a full 12 minutes at the Witching Hour to open The Abyss.

There's no sound

Check that the ring/silent switch on the side of your iPhone isn't set to silent, and that Sound is on in the game's menu. The game respects the silent switch so it never surprises you in a quiet room.

The game feels slow on my iPhone

Very late runs can put hundreds of creatures on screen at once. Closing other apps helps. Please tell us your iPhone model so we can tune performance in an update.

Requirements

Tallowdark runs on iPhone with iOS 16 or later. It plays fully offline. Game Center and purchases need a connection.
